North End looked to put the defeat against Wolves behind them with a result at Turf Moor. Things looked good for Preston, after taking the lead after 22 minutes. In form Barry Nicholson found the net with an excellently taken half volley.
North End were pegged back after a screamer from Joey Gudjonsson. Gudjonsson's goal gave Burnley a much needed boost. The home side went on to take the lead in the second half after some desperate defending in the Preston box.
Alan Irvine's Preston threw the kitchen sink at Burnley, looking for an equalising goal. Burnley made it 3-1 as North End pushed for a goal. North End now need to get back to winning ways against Swansea on Tuesday night.
