Elliott first North End to victory

Preston North End 2-1 Watford

North End got back to winning ways after a grinding performance against in form Reading. Alan Irvine shaked his starting eleven once again, after being on the wrong end of four defeats. Stephen Elliott made his first start for the club alongside Parkin up front.

Reading took the lead midway through the first half, McKevely was beaten with ease down the left. Sean St Ledger failed to hold his man, bring the Reading striker down in the box for a penalty. Nicky Hunt said thank you very much as he slotted the ball home from 12 yards.

Preston got back into the game via an own goal, Ingimarsson was the unlucky Reading player getting the last touch as the ball found its way into the net. North End started to take a foot hold in the match, taking the game to Reading.

The match at this point was wide open, with Reading there for the taking. Stephen Elliott rounded off a brilliant performance with his first goal for the club. Elliott found himself unmarked in the centre of the 6 yard box for a nice and easy tap in. Preston managed to hold on for the three points.
