Wolves eat Preston alive

Alan Irvine's Preston North End was totally outclassed at Deepdale by Mick McCarthy's Wolverhampton Wanderers. Chris Iwelumo fired Wolves into a three goal lead, before getting himself sent off for head butting Sean St Ledger.
It was a game of few chances for North End, Wolves being on top for the vast majority of the game. North End's only goal of the game came in the final few minutes when sub Stephen Elliott was brought down by the Wolves keeper, who also saw red.
Mellor tucked away the penalty to grab his 5th goal of the season, it was too little too late for North End. Irvine now needs to keep his players heads up and prepare for the first Lancashire derby of the season next week at Burnley.
